McConnell Sucks!

We The People

This country belongs to all of us. Not to a privileged few who hold sway over our representatives to do damage to us instead of helping to raise the USA as a beacon of hope around the world. It has been diminished by the Republican leadership of Speaker Ryan, Senate Majority Leader McConnell and our electoral college selected President Trump.

We have an obligation to better the country for our sake and the sake of our children. Why should people go bankrupt after a major hospital visit? Why should our children not have educational materials that reflect the real world of science, technology, engineering and math?

For too long, the Republicans have relied on one issue for their voters: Abortion. Although it has been legal since 1973 as law by the Supreme Court, the right-wing Republicans have continued to deny access to safe abortions. They have also called for abstinence to be taught in our schools by religious organizations violating the separation of church and state! Abstinence only works 2% of the time. It shames young girls into thinking they are "chewed gum" and no one will want them anymore. It says nothing to the boys or how to use contraceptives. Sex education is about teaching the truth of safe sex and when done this way, teen pregnancies and abortions have plummeted.

We have a decision to make. Is this country for all the citizens or just a select few who own our representatives with rich payoffs and donations. It is time to take back the high ground of moral responsibility and allow our children to be educated and flourish.

What can you do? VOTE! Write or call your congressman/woman today and let them know you have had enough of treasonous behavior and demand the people's voices be heard.
